Mr.
Carver received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Texas Tech
University in 1991 and his Master of Arts Degree in
Communication Studies from Texas Tech University in 1993.
Mr. Carver received his law degree from the University of Texas
in 1996 where he served as the National Secretary of the Order
of Barristers in 1996 and won every mock trial tournament at the
school his senior year. Mr. Carver has served as an
adjunct instructor at Texas Tech University and has been
recognized as a distinguished Alumnus in the Department of
Communication Studies. Christopher Carver has served as the
President of the South Plains Trial Lawyers Association, a
position which included service on the board of the Lubbock
County Bar Association.
Mr. Carver has served as lead and associate trial counsel on a
number of large and complicated personal injury cases including:
- Representation of over 30 maintenance workers who were
being denied their rights under the Federal Fair Labor
Standards Act. Mr. Carver oversaw the jury trials and
the appeals before both the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals and
the U.S. Supreme Court.
- Representation of over 300 injured workers in beef
processing plants. These cases resulted in numerous
trials and appeals before the Federal and State District
Courts, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals, the Texas 7th
District Court of Appeals, and the Texas Supreme Court and
the U.S. Supreme Court.
- Representation of the widow of a truck driver who was
shot and killed while on the job. This case resulted
in work before the Texas Workers Compensation Commission,
the Lubbock County District Courts and appeals before the
7th Court of Appeals and the Texas Supreme Court.
- Representation of over 25 injured workers who won their
cases before the Texas Department of Insurance, Division of
Workers Compensation but had their cases appealed on
judicial review to district court. These cases
resulted in trials and appeals in Lubbock, Amarillo, Dallas,
Fort Worth, Austin, Waco, San Angelo, and Farwell.
Representation of an injured oilfield worker who went to
trial in Monahans, Texas. The trial resulted in one of the
largest jury verdicts in the history of Ward County, Texas.
Christopher Carver’s service to the community does not end
with his work for injured workers. Mr. Carver has served
on the Board of Directors of Big Brothers, Big Sisters of
Lubbock for 6 years and served as President of the Board for two
years. He is also very active as a coach for youth sports
including coaching an AAU Basketball team. He lives in
Lubbock Texas with his wife, Tedra and his two children, Devin
and Zari.
